Cleaner and Greener is a program of Leonardo Academy, a charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit located in Madison, Wisconsin. 

Leonardo Academy founded the Cleaner and Greener Certification Program to reduce pollution and promote sustainability. This program helps businesses, organizations, and individuals take action to reduce pollution that contributes to climate change, smog, and acid rain. We help these groups communicate their positive environmental actions to the public through the use of the Certified Cleaner and Greener^® Seal. The Cleaner and Greener Program initially focused on the emission reduction component of sustainability, but has expanded to address all aspects of sustainability.

• Certification of Companies and Organizations
  This program certifies organizations for their sustainable actions and helps companies communicate their environmental dedication to the public. 

• Event Certification
  This program certifies events for sustainable actions, specifically offsetting emission caused by travel to and from the event and event energy use. This certification will later be expanded to include other aspects of sustainability such as waste reduction and materials selection.

• Building Certification
• This program certifies recognizes buildings that have reduced emissions resulting from energy efficiency actions or renewable energy use.

• Program for Individuals and Families
  This program encourages individuals and families to reduce their environmental impacts by increasing energy efficiency and taking other sustainability actions. The program provides a home checklist for guiding and scoring sustainability achievements.

• Emission Reduction Credits (ERCs) and Allowances Donation/Retirement Program
  Leonardo Academy helps companies donate and permanently retire emission reduction credits and allowances to the Cleaner and Greener Program. All donations are tax deductible. 

• Reports on Energy Savings and Emission Reduction Benefits
  Leonardo Academy has developed a number of reports assessing the economic, environmental, public health and other quality-of-life impacts on businesses and individuals from energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.

• Emission Reductions from Energy Efficiency
  Leonardo Academy is developing a program to offer emission reduction credits (ERCs) for energy efficiency, renewable energy and other emission reduction actions. This program would give additional savings and recognition to companies and individuals that make an effort to reduce energy use and emissions.
