Emission Offsets Donations
- Basin Electric Power Cooperative donated 195,848 kWh of green tags from their waste heat recovery projects located in North Dakota and South Dakota. This donation offset 75% of the total emissions associated with GLOBALCON 2007.
- FuelCell Energy, Inc., a Connecticut-based company that operates Ultra-Clean fuel cells at more than 65 installations in five countries, has donated the equivalent of 530 tons of carbon dioxide credits to help make GLOBALCON 2007 carbon neutral.

Companies and
Organizations
Companies and Organizations are invited to make monetary donations or
in-kind donations of emission reductions to help offset the
emissions of this event. Examples of emission reductions that
can be donated include: renewable energy certificates (RECs),
emission reductions from industrial process improvements and energy efficiency improvements,
emission sequestration in forests and land use actions, and emissions allowances and reduction credits
from emission regulatory programs.
Attendees
Attendees are invited to make monetary donations to help offset the
emissions caused by your participation in this event. A $15 donation purchases enough emission reductions to offset the average
emissions caused by one attendee's travel, lodging, meals, and event
activities. The monetary donations received are used by Leonardo
Academy to purchase and retire emission offsets
for this event.
Additional Opportunities for Companies and Organizations
If you represent an organization or business, you
can sign up to become a Cleaner and Greener Certified Organization and donate
emission reductions delivered by your organization’s energy
efficiency projects to help offset the emissions of this
event. This is a great, low-cost way to make a big difference.
