Event Offsets:

  • Sustainable Products Corp (SPC) purchased 35 MWh of Green Power Certificates from BC Hydro’s new Power Smart product for its business customers in British Columbia as a demonstrate to SPC’s commitment to offset the emissions created in planning and putting on this event. SPC then donated the Green Power Certificates through the Cleaner and Greener Program to offset the event emissions.
  • VisionQuest Windelectric Inc. donated 25 MWh of offsets, in the form of certified Green Energy(R) Tags generated at their Castle River Windfarm in SW Alberta. The certification is Green Leaf Tradeable Renewable Electricity Certificates, a Canadian program that is harmonized with the Green-e TRC program in the U.S. The Tags include ownership of all environmental benefits associated with the production of wind energy on the Alberta grid (each MWh = 1 tonne GHG reductions).
