Emission Reduction Donors
Basin Electric Power Cooperative donated 78,339 kWh of green tags from their waste heat recovery projects located in North Dakota and South Dakota. This donation offset of 100% of total conference emissions.
Invista donated 130,000 lbs of CO2 equivalent offsets from industrial process improvements.
Milliken donated 130,000 lbs of carbon credits from forest preservation projects.
Leonardo Academy donated and retired emission reductions to offset the SO2 emissions caused by this event. Source: U.S. EPA SO2 Allowance No. 200200199988 purchased by the Cleaner and Greener Program.
Companies and
Organizations
Companies and Organizations were invited to make monetary donations or
in-kind donations of emission reductions to help offset the
emissions of this event. Examples of emission reductions that
can be donated include: renewable energy certificates (RECs),
emission reductions from industrial process improvements and energy efficiency improvements,
emission sequestration in forests and land use actions, and emissions allowances and reduction credits
from emission regulatory programs.
Attendees
Attendees are invited to make monetary donations to help offset the
emissions caused by your participation in this event. A $4 donation purchases enough emission reductions to offset the average
emissions caused by one attendee's travel, lodging, meals, and event
activities by 100%. The monetary donations received are used by Leonardo
Academy to purchase and retire renewable energy certificates (RECs)
to help offset the emissions of the 2007 ASHRAE
Region V Conference. All
renewable energy certificates purchased are Green-E certified
renewable energy certificates from wind energy.
