Expected Offsets:
- Invista Inc. will donate year 2003
vintage emission reductions of 34,529 pounds of nitrous oxide (N2O)
emissions resulting from an emissions reduction project at the Sabine River
Works plant in Orange, TX. Using U.S. EPA global warming potential
equivalence factors, this has the same global warming reduction impact as a
reduction of 10.7 million pounds of CO2 emissions.
- Johnson Controls Inc.
is expected to donate emission reductions from one of their internal
manufacturing facility energy efficiency projects.
- Leonardo Academy will donate emission reductions with a value of $116 to
offset the SO2 emissions caused by this event. Source: U.S. EPA
SO2 Allowance Serial Number 200400174985 purchased by the Cleaner
and Greener Program in 2004.
- Philips Lighting
North America is expected to donate emission reductions from one of
their internal manufacturing facility energy efficiency projects.
- Renewable Choice Energy is expected to donate 500,042 kWh of Green-e
certified American Wind(tm) renewable certificates to offset the emissions
from both the conference space and the restaurant meals. The value of this
donation is equal to 696,058 pounds of CO2 or $10,000.
- The 3 Phases-PacifiCorp Partnership will donate 147,000 kWh of
Stateline Wind Energy Renewable Certificates with emissions representing the
offsetting of 294,000 pounds of CO2, 528 pounds of SOx emissions
as well as 511 pounds of NOx emissions.
The following individuals made donations to the Cleaner and Greener Program
to offset the emissions from this event. (Donations were used to purchase and
retire Green-e certified American Wind(tm) renewable certificates and 170
pounds of SO2 Emission Allowances at the
conclusion of the event)

Donations continue to be gathered from
conference attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors to support emission offsets to support emission offsets.
Donations of $25 per attendee (based on 5,300 attendees) will let us offset
the emissions covered by the energy use associated with this event by 200%
(Based on an estimated cost to buy green power certificates = 2.0 cents per kWh)
donation to offset the emissions of this event.
Financial donations will be used to buy emission reductions for this
purpose. If each participant donates $25, we will be able to buy enough
reductions to offset the emissions caused by this event by 200%. Donations of emission reductions from your energy efficiency actions,
renewable energy, and other emission reduction actions will also be used for
this purpose.
(Note: Cleaner and Greener is program of Leonardo Academy, a
charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, so your donations are tax
