The Cleaner and Greener Program
has worked
with the USGBC to offset the emissions created by Greenbuild conferences since
the inaugural expo in 2002. This
co mmitment to the environment is honored by Cleaner
and Greener Certification and the use of
the Cleaner and Greener Certified Event Seal.
Event attendees, exhibitors and others were encouraged to show their support by
making a donation to help offset event emissions. Donations
included carbon and SO2 credits, renewable energy credits (RECs) and monetary
donations that were used to purchse RECs. "

Individual Donors
(Updated 11/17/2005)
These Greenbuild attendees have
already made a difference by making a personal donation to offset
their atmospheric impact at Greenbuild. 95% of all donations made to
our program go directly to purchasing renewable energy credits to
offset this event. This year, these donors offset a total of almost
15 tons of carbon dioxide, 129 pounds of sulfur dioxide, 62 pounds
of NOx, 3 pounds of particulate pollution, and enough mercury to
offset 18 percent of the entire conference. You can do the same by
following the link below.

You can still
make a donation to offset the
emissions
caused by your participation in this event.
A $15
donation purchases enough reductions to offset
all the emissions caused by one attendees travel,
lodging, meals and event attendance. Financial donations
are used to buy
renewable energy certificates (i.e., "greentags") to offset
the emissions of Greenbuild 2005.
***Offset
Your Individual Emissions for Greenbuild***
If you represent an organization or business, you
can sign up
to become a Cleaner and Greener Certified Company and donate some
emission reductions delivered by your organization’s energy
efficiency projects to help offset the emissions of this
event. This is a great, low-cost way to make a big difference.
